My Kit Arrived

I apologize. My kit arrived Friday and I haven't had the time to post pictures or acknowledge its arrival. I started volunteering at a community theater and have been working backstage at a show all weekend. Finally, here is my kit from Bevin!

The contents of my kit...

The GORGEOUS bag!

A super soft hot pad!

The most adorable little personalized note sheets ever.

25 Years of Vogue Knitting! (With added patterns inside.) I'm so spoiled!

Super lucious Blue Blur. My gosh, this is fabulous!

Lovely stitch markers

The entire unwrapped kit. Note there was much more that isn't pictured. You can find more pics on my flickr account.

Many many many many thanks to Bevin for such an amazing kit! There's supposed to be one more thing to go with it. I didn't have time to check the mail yesterday, so it may already be here. I'll post about it when I finally have it in my hands. ; )

Homework Numero 4

1. Name your favorite magical creature, and describe why it is your favorite.
My favorite magical creature has to be Fluffy the three headed dog. Why is that you ask? Well, let's break this down.
1) Three heads are always better than one. If Fluffy is your pal, that's three time the poochy kisses.
2) Despite the outrageous amount of food required to feed three mouths, there only one "back door" so to speak, so not three times the "pick up" when Fluffy does his business.
3) Can you say "security system"! Think about it, no more remember codes in your muggle home and wasting time with spells. Sometimes you need to grab your wand and go and Fluffy makes sure your house is safe until you return. (You just have to remember to set that anti-music spell around your abode, just in case.)
4) If the three headed terror starts terrorizing your stash, you know a sure-fire way to get them to stop! Nothing like a little smooth jazz to put that puppy to sleep.
5) Imagine the outfits you could knit for it! Three times the hats and scarves, plus you can show off your knitting prowess with that three necked sweater you whip out. Honestly, what other magical creature would you want to knit for?

2. Tell us your favorite charm, spell or curse, and explain why you like it.
Gah...that's a tricky one. Do you go for the everyday useful spell or something you use once in a blue moon, but goodness are you good at it! I think I'll go with the UNBREAKABLE CHARM. Why? Well, if you're a clutz like me you need everything to be unbreakable...you know, your eye wear, the dishes, chairs, your face... Besides, if you ever do own a three-headed dog, wouldn't you want to know a charm that makes things unbreakable? A dog that big, with *ahem* three sets of very large teeth, might be the demise of everything you own. Unbreakable = sanity. Yes, that's it. I want my sanity. Unbreakable charm it is!

3. Describe your favorite holiday family tradition - which holiday and what makes it special.
Hmmm... For Christmas, there's the tradition of hiding the pickle-shaped ornament on the tree and whoever finds it gets a special gift. (You know that one, right?) Well, my sister and I aren't exactly good with competition, so my mother knew that having one ornament and one gift would never go over well. SO, at Christmas we had the finding of the pickle and the TOMATO ornaments. They were these two glass ornaments that looked like the real deal. We would decide who looked for which ornament and go crazy hunting through the branches to find our gifts. Only in our house would we have a Christmas tomato.

4. Name your favorite fiber-based (knitted, crocheted, or spun) finished object.
My favorite FO is my red basic-cabled hat. Yeah, so I messed up and the cables and ribs don't match up. Who cares? It fits. It's warm. It's red. That's enough for me! Besides, it was my first knitted hat and the first thing I knit on DPNs. It has such sentimental value, plus it's sexy. I like sexy hats.

It fits!

Sexy!

Homework

Homework this week was tricky! Let's hope I got it right...

"OFXMWPOZCP DLJD APZAWP QTYO TE QLC PLDTPC EZ QZCRTGP ZESPCD QZC MPTYR HCZYR ESLY MPTYR CTRSE."
SPCXTZYP RCLYRPC

"Dumbledore says people find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right." Hermoine Granger

Bonus 1: Who became scarred and developed a taste for raw meat in Chapter 29 of HBP? Bill Weasley is horribly disfigured during the battle between the Order and Death Eaters in Hogwarts by Fenrir Greyback and now joneses for raw meat.
Bonus 2: Who developed an antidote for a birthday present in Chapter 18 of HBP? I do believe that Professor Slughorn provides a lovely little antidote for Ron after he eats some candies that Romilda Vane laced with Love Potion for Harry. I hate when that happens!
